Probably but I don't really like the idea of having yet another release
with this workaround for buggy drivers. As long as that workaround is in
cairo nobody will ever fix the buggy drivers...

If nothing happens before squeeze release on the drivers front I'll
probably include that patch again but after squeeze and for experimental
I'll drop it again, in the hope that the drivers finally get fixed.

Which drivers are affected so far? Only radeon?
