All the packages on mozilla.debian.net are essentially rebuilds of the
packages from debian unstable with different versions and in build
environments matching the target (so, building on wheezy for
wheezy-backports). That's all.

That being said, you should definitely *not* continue using version 28,
which is full of actively exploited security flaws that have been
corrected in newer versions.

If the reason you need the old mozilla sync system is that you have your
own sync server, you should know that the new sync can also be installed
on you own server.
