Just noted that there's more:
Unpacking iceweasel (43.0.2-1) over (38.5.0esr-1) ...
dpkg: warning: unable to delete old directory '/etc/iceweasel/searchplugins/locale/en-US': Directory not empty

and only later on:

Removing obsolete conffile /etc/iceweasel/searchplugins/locale/en-US/eBay.xml ...
Removing obsolete conffile /etc/iceweasel/searchplugins/locale/en-US/google.xml ...
Removing obsolete conffile /etc/iceweasel/searchplugins/locale/en-US/twitter.xml ...

with the following left back:

As before, the two regular files were neither created nor modified by
myself, so they and the empty dirs should be be cleaned up properly in
a future package version :-)
