Ok, thanks to Matteo I was able to find the place where this change was
announced -> Message-ID: <20160708132239.rmyxlgfnlk5u2nf4 at tty.gr>

I completely missed this email and to be honest I would have said that I wasn't
in favour. My proposal is to roll back
https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-mutt/mutt.git/commit/?id=7783797e14a2ad45dbdef83e68fd568dfc8bcf0a
and discuss it a bit more; I'm in favour of collaborative contribution and in
the medium term I'm also in favour of switching the Maintainer field, but I
would like it not to happen now.

To be honest I was surprised by the change, I'm sorry if the tone of my first
email was confrontational, that wasn't my intention.
