Well, that'll be quite true for userland, but not for kernel, right?

I see different SoC and modem, at the very least. Will it still take
"phonet" protocol? Will it have same design w.r.t. GSM voice?

Audio setup is quite difficult/tricky. Neo900 will have one more
microphone AFAICT. Surely they'll want to use DSP during audio calls?
(Ok, we should probably use DSP on N900, too, to get loudspeaker car
mode...)

Will the peripherals on i2c be the same? What about camera? (I guess
different SoC will have impact there).

So yes, Neo900 is close to N900, but then... anything with keyboard
and resistive display is :-).
