please use our mailing list for communication, this makes it more likely an
email doesn't get lost in this pile.

I would check if the same problem is in the experimental version of net-snmp.
If not, this would be yet another reason to move to 5.4 :)

I would also check if the problem is in the upstream version, as well. If not,
this is clearly a bug in the packaging. If yes, i would try to fix this in the
upstream version, create a diff and place in into the debian/patches directory
using a new serial number and a short README what the patch does and a short note
that the patch is under the same license as NetSNMP (this makes it a lot easier
to push the patch upstream).
