Changing the build-depends alone with no other changes avoids the above kernel 
warning message from kernel 2.6.25 (the Lenny kernel).

Could you please fix this ASAP and apply to have the fix included in Lenny.  
We don't want such kernel messages appearing on every Lenny server system.

I would be happy to do an NMU to fix this issue...
