If it works, why not?

Could you take care of this, please?  I must confess I am demotivated for
doing it because I foresee long discussions with the Release Team.  Besides,
I will leave for vacation in August.

What you have to do, first, is to file a bug report with severity level
"serious" against octave3.0-headers and, after, approach the RT. The request
should be very well elaborated.
