This file is there by mistake, since it is regenerated at install time by
the postinst script. It is now being included in the package because of the
recent split between octaveX.Y and octaveX.Y-common.
At any rate, the ls-R file is obsolete. John Eaton just confirmed it [1].
I am going to removed the code related to ls-R from the package.
