Ehm, my remark wasn't serious.

Normally, these kind of transition are handled by the release team. For
reasons unknown to me, they didn't schedule binNMUs for the hdf5
transition (I know that the hdf5 maintainers asked them).

The current situation is a PITA, that's for sure. Anyway, I'll see what
I can do.
