[Pkg-openmpi-maintainers] Too-generic SONAME for OpenMPI?

I was not able to reproduce it on amd64 but have to say that I did some
modifications to the OpenMPI packages that might have interfered here.
I'll try it again tomorrow or during the weekend with clean OpenMPI
packages and in a i386 chroot.

Besides, does this issue affect runtime behavior in any way? Or is this
a build-issue only?

Dirk, did you already take this to upstream? If not, I'd say we should
wait until I have the results of my testing. I'll take care of taking
things upstream then. [0]

So, nothing new from my side. I was just quite busy with RL and wanted
to let you know that this issue is not forgotten. I'd like to have a
solution before the lenny freeze, whenever that my be.

 0. Though upstream is very responsive and supportive, I don't think not
playing well with LAM will convince them. LAM is deprecated and most of
the LAM people are hacking OpenMPI now.
