I'm glad to hear that someone is still interested in oss4 :)
As you may have guessed, we (the original packaging team) are not very 
interested
in oss4 anymore (I'm no longer an oss4 user myself).

Your proposed changes seems fine, if you want to take over the 
maintenance,
feel free to go ahead.
