There is no "old" php-pear package. There is a *new* php-pear package
in unstable, which correctly declares that it Replaces: php4-pear (<<
4:4.4.0-0).

No, the solution is to remove php4-pear, or to install the unstable
version of php4-pear if you are using other packages which depend on it.
