I knew this will happen :-(.  We should have sticked to 5.1.6, so close
to etch release.  I am very unhappy, that we have to pull patches from
CVS just because every new release of PHP breaks so many things.

PHP upstream people are very unfriendly to it's users, packagers and
whole world :-(.  It would propably hurt them to post CVS revision
number with relevant fix :-(((( or even attach patch which fixes
problem.

Could you try to apply it yourself, recompile and see if that fixed your
problem?
