unfortunately i don't think PDO support is going to make it into
php in time for etch.  i've spent most of the past 2 or 3 weeks getting
the package as it is in better shape for the next stable release, but
at this time i don't believe we have enough time to (re-)introduce a
new binary package, since it then requires waiting for manual
intervention by the ftp-masters who are already really busy.

*but*, i'll re-introduce it after we officially freeze for etch.  if you
want to track this, there should already be a bug in the BTS about it.
