[php-maint] exif options :- PNG support?

Hello,

I am on a project where I need to use various functions to read and  
print png images. These functions are dependant on exif support, which  
on this binary package only extends to TIFF and JPEG. This requires  
the compile option --with-png-dir=DIR.


  Is this being left out for a particular reason, or is it possible  
that a future update will have it?
