[php-maint] question on session save path

Hi,
we (olivier and I) are packaging phpgroupware since 2 months and have
found that the previous packager decided to use a specific directory to
store the session: /var/lib/phpgroupware/sessions instead
of /var/lib/php5.

Is there any policy document on where to store php sessions in debian?

Do you know any reason not to store the session files in the same
directory as the other php applications?
