nothing's been done yet afaik, but there seems to be a general consensus
among those who have an opinion that we ought to move.  

if you want to help with that too that's great.  i'd prefer to wait
until this last batch of patches are backported to lenny/etch before
making any such change for the "official" repo, but that doesn't mean
you can't start now and work out any kinks.
