Hi Sean,

thanks for your offer. I think that main problem with packaging PHP in
Debian is the QA; e.g. handling the bug reports, confirming if they
are valid, searching upstream git for patches, etc.  That's also
related to security updates.

Also we carry a quite high number of patches on top of vanilla PHP,
and it would be nice if someone could do a review and pick patches
which make sense to be send to PHP upstream (e.g. real bugs).

So, not much programming, but a lot of god forsaken work :).  If you
are up to it, then welcome on board.
