In case case we keep a not maintain upstream version (say 7.4) and this version
hit a critical bug, and we can not backport the patch or don't want to or any
reason.
We can perfectly push it out of stable if it become a security or stability risk
for the user.
I am not really aware of all debian things, but the file
http://ftp-master.debian.org/removals.txt list out the actual removals,
including removals from *stable*.
Am I wrong ?
PS: I know it drive us to a new issue : 'hey what will I do if my app is using
7.4 and it is removed from debian ?' --> answer 'hey, this is totally obselete,
we can not maintain it, keep your postgresql server installed and upgrade ASAP'.
