I owe you a follow-up and I plan to work on this.

Easiest will probably to just run a local git server on the box (which is
what I finally converged to on my home server for 20+ years of unpackaged
"experimental" code as well as 25+ years of accumulated latex files...) or
something like that -- or maybe use gitlab/github/alioth/...

Can we / shall we schedule a virtual meeting or call / chat just to go over
the code?  One evening maybe?

Been there, done that.  We realized the other day we no longer spend Sundays
driving to games.  Advantage of kid at college :)
