Of course, that's what free software is all about. :-)

Sounds good.  One thing: if upstream does -dbg the way PETSc does,
that's great.  Otherwise, the Debian way of shipping separate debugging
symbols is a lot more efficient in terms of storage space and build
time.  I only do it the "PETSc way" because that's how upstream does it
and users might expect that convention (static with debugging symbols).
But a couple of people have bugged me about it, particularly ftp-masters
when it's in the NEW queue.
