I was  quite worried in fact and now I am relieved :)
I'll upload a new slepc and life tomorrow

I am still angry at the PETSc guys, they made again very slight changes to
their interface
and it breaks slepc and life.
It is not big deal (at least from what I have seen) but it is a pain to
maintain all these changes of interfaces (< 2.3, 2.3 3.0 3.1 ...)
