Package: libpcap0.8-dev
Version: 1.8.1-4
Severity: important

Dear libpcap maintainer,
the fix for Bug#760370 [1] has caused the output of
pcap-config --libs
to start with a space. This appears to be a problem for applications
using the output of that directly with cmake. At least for
openvas-libraries (manged by the pkg-security-team I've put in CC), the
change results in a FTBFS [2] with cmake reporting:
Target "openvas_misc_shared" links to item " -lpcap" which has
leading or trailing whitespace. This is now an error according to
policy CMP0004.
While we can fix this for the openvas-libraries package, this may
affect other projects using libpcap and cmake as well.
Thanks
Lukas
