I do not really have an opinion on this, but my initial thought is
that if the term is easy to misunderstood, then perhaps it should be
changed to something less confusing, or something should be done to
make the correct interpretation easier to grasp?

I do not know any of these terms, so I can not really help with this
one.  I leave it your and upstreams hands. :)

(BTW: are you aware that the upside down question mark is not used in
      English?  I believe it is used in Spanish and a few others, but
      not in English, German and Norwegian. :)
