Excellent! synfigstudio builds nicely! I got some lintian warnings,
though.

To summarize based on your 7-step list:

1 - done
2 - will wait until NEW processing continues
3 - done
4 - depends on NEW processing
5 - depends on synfig going through NEW
6 - depends on 4 and 5
7 - mmmm... :)

Looks like our attention should be on improving packaging for now.
