Bug#283765: kvim: goes into insane self-resizing lunacy when maximized

Severity set because I think this will scare the user to death.

For me, KDE tries to start KVim maximized, so I see this every time I try
to launch it.

If maximized, kvim will resize itself in the horizontal dimension
repeatedly, making itself one column narrower until the window can't get
any narrow, only a few characters wide.

It continues to loop like this, hitting its head on the narrowest size,
until the window manager's resize widget is grabbed.  That stops the
process, and the window can then be sized normally.

You can manually resize it out to fill the screen horizontally, but if you
tell the window manager to *maximize* the window, the process repeats.

This is probably some bogus kwm/kvim interaction.  I'm not sure where the
fault lies, but I've never seen this behavior in any *other* application
(GTK+, GNOME, Qt, KDE, Athena, what-have-you).
