so that means that it's not a vim bug, but definetely a config bug.
I suggest you to search if :
* you have touched the vanilla /etc/vim/vimrc
* you have put some things in ~/.vim/after/{syntax,ftplugin}/perl.vim
* you have some au FileType perl .... in your ~/.vimrc
but vanilla config works, and we cannot be held responsible for a bad=20
user config that mess up with the default syntax/plugins files.
