kvim cannot be removed.  this prevents me from installing any packages.  apt-get
recommends that i try "apt-get -f install", but this results in an error:

I would very much like to be able to install the most recent kernel and alsa to
see if it fixes bug number 261310.

I couldn't reproduce this bug and it seems that other people can't do it
