Sorry.. but I don't get it:

You've copied it from src/... to debian/ without fixing this lintian 
warning.. 
But you've changed a grep root to a grep -q root... Which is of course 
okay, but should be documented anywhere.... 

I'll remove the initscript from the debian dir now and create a dpatch.
