Hi Mike,

yes, I saw that while going through the git history and bugreports.
After trying several approaches, I think I have combined the different
tests for the best result possible with this general approach, which
still has some caveats.
Automatically detecting with "file" is only useful for a strictly
separate wine32-wine64 setup, while I now realized that a shared WoW64
setup is possible. Adding your concerns and upstream's general other
approach, I'd say this approach is a dead-end.

Instead I propose to stay with wine32 as default (and try not to install
wine64 automatically), and make it as easy as possible to choose WoW64.
