I just noticed that my girlfriend's laptop is actually a ipw2100 (I
thought it was ipw2200), and I tried to use wpasupplicant with her plain
WEP secured network. Now I could reproduce the problem: wpasupplicant
does associate successfully, but dhclient does not succeed in requesting
a lease.
However, when I issue the command 'iwpriv eth1 reset', sometimes
dhclient does succeed after that. I'm pretty confused about this,
because this doesn't seem to me quite deterministic.

WPA does work with this laptop. The problem seems to be WEP on ipw2100.
For this reason, I retitled this bug accordingly.
