was because my system (Fedora Core 5) was looking for a configuration
file named /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf even though I had
started the daemon with another conf file.  It would "go back" to the
default one and error out (because the default one didn't have my
password in it) whenever the laptop would go to sleep and wake up again.
