Yes i think its a bit crazy, and yes everything is possible ;-)

Whether or not its worth too much hassle I dunno.

When wpa_action is called by wpa_cli, WPA_IFACE is inherited from the
environment (which is provided by wpa_cli/wpa_supplicant).
