[Pkg-x2go-devel] Getting things started with x2goclient

Hi,
I noticed that this list has been setup for a couple of days now without
any traffic. So in order to get some action here, I propose to first
start working on integrating the x2goclient package in debian. Its
dependencies nxproxy, nxcomp and nxcompext are already in debian,
although they are still at upstream version 3.2 -- x2go uses the
"current" upstream versions 3.4. I've added Matthew Johnson, their
maintainer to the CC field. Matthew, what are plans on upgrading these
packages to 3.4? Would you mind moving them to the collab-maint git
repository?
Until this is decided, I decided to cleanup my local x2goclient package
a bit and upload it here:

Jonas, if you feel like it, feel free to convert it to CDBS and/or
import it to collab-maint. I think it is a decent starting point.
Next steps (in this order, IMO) to get a working x2goserver:
- check of nxcomp and nxproxy really require upgrading to version 3.4
(but I guess they do); if yes, do so.
- package nxcompext and nxcompshad, seems we don't have that in debian.
starting points may or may not be found here:
http://i4git.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/nxcompext.git/
http://i4git.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/nxcompshad.git/
- package nxagent. Starting point may or may not be again next to the
above mentioned repositores. This is more or less a full source copy
of the old X11R6 source tree, with modifications to build system and
some libraries, from which a modified Xnest is built. I've hacked up
the build system to have stuff built against system libraries here:
http://i4git.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/x2goagent.git/
- package x2goserver (much easier than nxagent, more a bunch of perl
scripts. Some of then need review and revisions.
Have fun!
