Your comment that HP won't reveal info on chipset puzzles me: Seems to
me such info is easy to find using internet search engines - and that a
good source of such info turns out to be... a PDF file at hp.com:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13500_div/13500_div.PDF

Page 5 of that PDF says:

Chipset: XGI VOLARI-Z11-A2CB-HF with 64MB dedicated memory

I suspect the tough part won't be porting to ARM, but lack of support
for closed-source graphics drivers.

Packaging officially for Debian implicitly includes (attempt at)
compiling for all Debian architectures, including ARM.

Debian packaging obviously won't magically work on platforms that it
wasn't coded for - and quite likely won't do so accidentally either.

Porting upstream code to ARM is an upstream task.

Porting upstream ARM-supported code to Debian ARM should not cause much
trouble and not take much time.

Getting graphics to work decently may be another matter...
