On X2go Git we currently produce tarballs different from the NX
tarballs. I agree that we should use a different naming scheme. Will
put that on my todo. Ideally, packaging for Debian should be done from
the NoMachine tarballs, including some improvements we have made. For
this, it is easy to make a diff between the NoMachine tarball and the
X2go tarball.
And: Alex and I today have played with nx libs and x2goagent, as the
current x2goagent in Git is really buggy and crashes regularly. We so
far were not able to cut it down, so packaging nxcomp for X2go should
wait until we know what breaks x2goagent.
Alex has built an x2goagent on his old fashioned way (that is without
Git) and that one does not crash. However, the diff between his
x2goagent source and the one in Git is not really evident. I suspect
some build dependency that is different in our packages compared to
how Alex builds his x2goagent.
I suggest waiting with packaging until we know what the cause for
x2goagent crashes is.
Greets,
Mike
