Have you tried asking upstream to do a release of thunar with these bugs
fixed?

Well we'd prefer in general not to package SVN snapshots but if you can
persuade us that these are important bug fixes/features then we'd
consider it.

The best way for all users though is to get upstream to do a bugfix
release.

Is that going to be a plugin or into thunar's core?  It should go
upstream before it comes to Debian.
