I asked why there isn't even a simple comment about the bugs that I
reported for month's. I was told that Benny is too busy, and it looks
like no one knows when this is going to change.

I wasn't talking about SVN snapshots. All patches mentioned above
should apply to the version from the 4.4.1 release.

Of cause, I'll open an upstream bug with the patch first.
