Thanks for your effort, otherwise this patch would have rotten in here 
for months, I guess. The quilt-conversion is also a great step forward 
for that package!

I've tested the vorbis functionality of some programs that use 
libvorbis. So far everything looks fine to me. But as I said, I don't 
have a great testing environment for libvorbis set-up, so those were 
just very basic file reading and writing tests using different GUI 
multimedia programs based on libvorbis.

They sure do, considering that all of their packages currently in 
unstable are NMUs (except one, which is still the same version as years 
ago, untouched). I don't mind helping out, but in this case I guess 
"joining the team" means "being the team", which would be more effort 
than I am able to commit to, I'm sorry.
