Call for help with fixing Xiph packages in Debian (Was: Moderate the pkg-xiph-maint mailing list for non-subscribers?)

Since yesterday it have become clear to me that John Francesco Ferlito
is no longer active in Debian and the other project admin told me he
was no longer doing Debian packaging. I ended up asking for project
admin acces myself and plan to try to help getting the Xiph packages
into better shape. I got the admin access today, and accepted a few
new group members as co-admins.

Are you are with me in getting the packages into better shape? Are
there anyone still reading this mailing list? If so, please reply to
let us know. I plan to remove everyone from the project that do not
reply to this email within a month, to bring the project member status
back to the reality.

My first planned task is to enable list moderation for
non-subscribers, as soon as I can get access to the admin interace.
No luck so far.

Next, want us to upload new packages to the archive without the no
longer active group members as uploaders, to make sure the packages in
Debian better reflect realities. I might fix a few bugs in the
process, if there are patches in the BTS.

Finally, I hope we can upload the latest upstream versions if there
are any, but suspect this should go into experimental to avoid causing
problems with the new Debian Jessie release freezing in a few weeks.
But that should be decided after looking closely at the new upstream
version of each package.
