IRC channel for the group?

Well, I can be there (like I was today). But I'm not a big fan of too 
much instant messaging and chat, it distracts me too much.

What's wrong with the mailing list as a communication tool? I think it 
perfectly adjusts to our needs, especially with people that are not 
constantly available.
