In this respect ZODB makes no difference to Python. Each single Zope
Version needs a certain Python version - so why not making it dependant
from another package which has to have a certain version number?
If you ask me, I would definitely separtate ZODB from the Zope package
and use it for Zope (and perhaps other applications). The question is
just how big is the effort for this approach and who will do this
(definitely not me).
