Howdy,

I'm not quite sure what the failure case is here.

The bug report is titled "reportbug: crashes after http timeout?". But 
the Python exception traceback shows the actual error is 
'httplib.BadStatusLine'. Which is it: a bad response status line, or a 
timeout?

Is there a good reproducible test case for this bug?
