It does matter if the frontend has to compute the scan window relative
to scan area if the backend does not support paper-size. How can a
frontend determine wether tl-x = 0 or tl-x = max-tl-x - 210 ?

Anyway, i repeat : if the backend implement paper-size, there is no need
for such option.
