It would be simple enough to take filenames on the command line rather
than using shell redirects. Many languages provide more flexibility for
file open / read / close than they do for stdin/stdout. Seems strange
to restrict tests of file io to stdin/stdout.

=== echo client / server ===
The Java implementations are allowed to use threads instead of separate
client / server processes; the Tcl implementation has it's own script
to start 2 separate processes.
Seems like we should *always* start 2 separate client / server
processes for this test, and just measure one.
