Brandon, simply declare a new industry standard *MAIN BENCHMARK* as
tests x,y,z and publish.

Or is "Bench++ Benchmark Suite" what you're looking for?
http://www.research.att.com/~orost/bench_plus_plus/paper.html

Just download the Shootout data, exclude the tests you don't like and
present the results as you wish. (And let others define their own new
industry standard *MAIN BENCHMARK* as tests m,n,o and publish
as-they-wish.)

Could that be because they make money from defining and measuring
benchmarks?

Is that the singular y'all ;-)

Hopefully you and I will not be the only people to look at the Shootout
webpages. I think those other individuals will be in a far better
position to judge which benchmarks are appropriate to their task than
you or I can now.
