I wouldn't presume to judge the elegance of a Haskell program, so let
me just say that we can now exercise some discretion and perhaps
include both an 'over-optimized' version and an 'elegant' version of a
program.

If it's elegant to the point of not actually fulfilling the test
requirements then there may still be a place for it as an 'interesting
alternative program' :-)
