The main use of simple-cdd is to create an installer image with a custom
package selection and some custom debconf preseeding. It's also possible
to have a single CD image (which also work with USB these days) that can
install various different profiles with different sets of packages and
configurations.

This is more consistant with what simple-cdd is designed to handle.

This usually results in a mirror that doesn't have all the needed
information, and doesn't tend to work with simple-cdd. Of course, if you
do everything perfect, it could work, but there are many things people
tend to miss when building a mirror.
