[Splashy-users] progress bar not working

hi all users of this ML.
I've just installed Splashy 0.3.2 in my Debian Etch system.
All works well, apart from that I had to change "ro" to "rw" in the 
kernel line of my menu.lst to make splashy to work since otherwise I got 
an error about /lib/init.d/splashy/rw (or something similar) not 
writable...

the second problem is that the progress bar doesn't load when I boot 
system...it does work by the way when I shutdown it...any hints?
